An alleged juvenile crime carried out with the help of an adult
In New Jersey, two people were arrested for attempted robbery, including a 17-year-old. It’s alleged that a 44-year-old male was with the juvenile while attempting to hold up a CITGO Station. It’s believed that the two suspects were also involved with other armed robberies in the New Jersey area. Since the 17-year-old’s case is considered a juvenile crime, his situation will likely be handled much differently than that of the adult male.
Due to a recent string of armed robberies, a task force was established to crack down on any individuals found to be committing these crimes. This task force eventually arrested the older male and juvenile after a period of investigation into these crimes. Authorities ultimately confronted the pair at a gas station where they were waiting for them.
New Jersey authorities report that the teenager was found hiding under a parked vehicle. The adult male was in a car nearby. The two were charged with several counts to commit robbery and unlawful weapon possession. The adult suspect was also charged with eliciting a minor into an act of juvenile crime.
The adult suspect is being held on a $250,000 cash bail. The teenager was taken to the youth center of Camden County. No mention of bail for the teenager was reported. Both were charged for the most recent alleged attempted robbery and charges for several previous New Jersey robberies are pending. However, like all such criminal defendants who have been charged with a juvenile crime, this teen has the right to fight the allegations made against him.
